Libano-Suisse & Baalbeck International Festival 2019: Together in Respecting History, and Supporting the Future

Libano-Suisse & Baalbeck International Festival 2019: Together in Respecting History, and Supporting the Future

The steps of the Bacchus Temple shall once again harbor history, culture, and arts as the City of the Sun opens the gates of the world-renowned festival it has been hosting for 63 years. And for the seventh consecutive year, Libano-Suisse, who is celebrating its 60th anniversary, is proud to be sponsoring the Baalbeck International Festival, with which we share a strong aspiration to honor and respect history while supporting the future.

This year, much like all the years preceding it, the Baalbeck International Festival offers a rich and inviting program that will be sure to enchant everyone in attendance. The festival will begin with a captivating Ode to a Homeland by Marcel Khalife and the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra, followed by an evening with Melody Gardot’s soothing jazz tunes. The program will continue to dazzle and please audiences of all genres, with an electrifying cine-concert in tribute to the unforgettable Abdel Halim Hafez, a classical performance of Verdi’s Requiem by Maria Agresta and Giorgio Berrugi, and a vibrant performance by Jain. Jahida Wehbe and Omar Bashir will then transport audiences to Andalusia in sensational performances of tarab and muwashahat.

Libano-Suisse and the Baalbeck International Festival are both dedicated and devoted to promoting and elevating arts and culture, and Lebanon’s image on the international map, through supporting local talents and initiatives.
